This book is full of symbolisms and it's amazing how we can relate it to real life events. Each quote I will write about, made me see things from a different perspective. I hope you see were I'm coming form.
"The heat lasted until nightfall, and all that time he had to carry his jacket. But when he thought to complain about the burden of its weight, he remembered that, because he had that jacket, he had withstood the cold of the dawn."
This is Santiago, he's a spanish shepherd that has travelled Adalusia's terrain with his ship. He's a very intelligent boy in search of his personal legend, his life goal. Through his traveling from Spain to Egypt, he learns indispensable life lessons that can help us live life to the fullest, appreciating every little thing.
I think if we truly understand this quote we can get the answer to the question we've all, at least once in our life, asked ourselves: "why is this sh!t happening to me?, why didn't someone warned me?". We always look back to that or those life changing moments and wished we hadn't lived through them but the question we're asking is inaccurate, for the proper one is: where would I be without it?.
"It's the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting".
From my point of view, this quote speaks for itself. It's funny how people always say that dreams are just dreams, or they tell you about those distant dreams they once had but didn't pursue. I don't want to be that type of person, the one that has every tool to accomplish them but for some un-explicable reason we simply give them up. This book teaches you why you should give everything you have every single day so when you finally look back to your past you become proud of yourself. Proud you accomplished what you promised and mostly, glad you accomplished your personal legend.
